Original capture on photographic negative (FILM)

Pareidolia is a psychological phenomenon that predisposes humans to decipher a face in patterns or inanimate objects. Some might say that it is evidence of paranoia, or a fear of being judged. I see faces all of the time when I am out photographing random patterns.

This one called to me as a peering face emerging from a sponge patterned lava boulder. Watching for what? Any answer would lead to many paths. Since we all return to the earth perhaps it whispers, “See you later.”

~My Process~

Images are captured digitally or by film. I am a one man operation. Works are printed in house on a large format museum quality machine. Film is hand processed then scanned for digital manipulation on a 5k dpi film scanner. Papers used are of high quality and are typically 310gsm or 10mil for free images. Prints are sold unframed, rolled, and hand boxed for shipment to U.S. zip codes. International shipments are special orders with an added handling charge.

My work is filed as editions. Typically they are not limited, however it is unlikely that I will print more than 25 copies per image for sale. This is not a profit seeking endeavor. Self fulfillment is my goal and I choose to share the enjoyment. These reasonable prices reflect that mission.

You will find no ego, no hype, no chasing of fads here. I am just an old guy sharing his photographic joy.
