Location: Manzanar Internment Camp, CA

Shortly after the U.S. entered World War II a disgraceful action was perpetrated upon US citizens of Japanese descent. They were rounded up, separated from their accumulated assets and then interned at 10 camps (prisons) across this nation. The United States has a cruel history of unlawful persecution toward selected ethnic groups. This was just one of many actions throughout our history. May none of those be repeated.

Manzanar is being preserved by the US National Park Service.
